Photojournalism Story

For our photojournalism class we have to make a video with pictures and other methods. I am pitching this idea to my teacher to see what she thinks. The little boy above is Lance and he had a heart transplant and had some scares through out the process. I would like to follow him around and show how he has to go to the doctor and take a lot of medication but at the same time show how he is still a kid and loves to play. I also want to interview his parents and talk about how its affected them and how they are doing fundraisers to help raise money to pay for the medical bills and medication.The transplant cost $500,000 and they need all the money they can get.

Glamour Shoot

This weekend I am going to be shooting my glamour assignment for portraiture. I'm sooo excited. It is going to be a learning assignment for me. The location I'm shooting at has two old chimneys that are falling down which should make a great image. My sister-in-law Kelsee VanNus is going to be my model in the photo shoot. We are not allowed to use strobes, so i will be using available light and maybe a fill flash.

Matte Cutter

I'm looking to buy a matte cutter so my matte presentation looks better when showing my images. I found this matte cutter and really like it so far but if any one knows of any other matte cutters that I might like please let me know.

Feature

For photojournalism class I had to shoot a feature assignment, which was a lot harder than it looked. A feature is something that gets an reaction from the audience or viewer. It can be funny or sad or cute, but they are very hard to find. You have to be in the right place at the right time.

Zombie Walk

I was going through flickr and looking at other peoples images and came across this persons flickr where they took pictures at the Zombie Walk. There are some cool images in that set. I never knew there was a such thing as a zombie walk and would love to go to one one day.

Chicken House

When I first began in the photography program, I had to shoot for a black and white final four. I choose to shoot this old chicken house not to far from where I live. It was hard because I was just learning what to do. I went back and shot over 5 times at this place trying to get the perfect image. But in the end I was very happy with the results. Low Key

Today I was working on printing my low key assignment for advance portraiture. I'm having a hard time color correcting my image because some parts are in shadow and look blue and others are in the light and look yellow. But I'm trying my best to correct it as best I can.

Shopping!!

Today Debra and I went shopping a hobby lobby and sams with Mrs. Harkins to buy things we needed for the holiday portraits set. I can't wait to see it all finished. It's going to be very colorful.
